2 years

I just can't believe its been 2 years. We had a day planned to go and play and do whatever. Since we have a little one she has a pretty structured schedule. So just to go and not know what was next was pretty exciting in our minds, but since my mom got in an accident she couldnt come up. We changed our plans and just went to dinner while my little brother and sister watched Miss A. Thank you so much guys, we owe you big. And mom we are sad you could'nt come but are so glad you are still with us. Get better soon.

So here is a run through of some big events in the past 2 years.

Family lovin'

And A LOT of time with our sweet baby girl,
Who wouldn't be happy with this face around?
We have had a couple of really good years. There was hard times of course but we would never go back on the days and hours we have had together and will continue to have forever.
Happy 2 years!

X Marks the Spot

Ok so this time it was my birthday. I was pretty excited for this birthday. I wasnt sure though what I was going to get because I told Talmadge not to really get me anything. I said I just want to know that you thought of me and put some time into making me feel special. On the morning of that day, this map was cut into puzzle pieces and in a little bag next to my pillow. I had to put the puzzle together follow the treasure map and if you look really close you can see little "x's" thats where the treasures where. I went around finding lots and lots of coupons ( which I love) and some other little goodies.....

As I found the last X marks the spot, I unwrapped the gift and found some nice canisters (for flour, sugar...). Not really what I was expecting but I was happy with it. (part of me was thinking thats weird cause thats the one thing I told him I didn't want) So I called Talmadge at work to thank him for the gifts. He didn't answer the phone, just went to his voice mail saying " HA you really thought thats what I was going to give you for you birthday. Go to the hallway, and look up but dont go to far. I love you Happy Birthday."

So as you can see in the vent above me I found an Ipod touch. Totally not what I was expecting. I was so so so happy. Yes I even cried just a bit. Talmadge came home a few hours later and we spent the rest of the day together doing all my favorite things. I LOVED IT! I would have to say that it was one of the best birthdays. And wow did my honey follow through with making me feel special. Thank you Sweetheart.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

We had just a few people over for her Birthday party. We wish we could have had all our family and friends but seeing that we are poor and in school we have to deal with the distance right now. I think I am the one that dislikes it the most. I just want to be closer darn it.
So we were thinking that we were bad parents not wrapping her presents, but she didn't even know how to take out the tissue paper of a bag. So we were glad we didn't waist our time.

We want to thank everyone that sent or brought a gift. She loves it all.
What great grand parents, aunts, uncles, cousins,....everyone! THANK YOU

We just made her a little cupcake. I thought it might stay together better than a piece of cake. I did though make a cake but it wasn't worth taking a picture of (It didn't look very good at all) At first she wasn't sure that it was a trick or something that we would give her cake so yummy and messy and just let her go for it. Then she realized oh yeah
its my day, I will enjoy this how I want.(Commentary added)

All in all we think it went pretty well. Terrible Twos here we come.

MISS A. THIS PAST YEAR

OUR SWEET BALL OF SUNSHINE IS ONE, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I THINK THAT IT HAS GONE BY KINDA SLOW AT TIMES, BUT WHEN I LOOK AT HER BABY PICTURES I WONDER WHERE ALL THE DAYS WENT. WHAT A JOY SHE IS IN OUR FAMILY, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE MANY BIRTHDAYS TO COME. HERE IS A RUN THROUGH OF THE PAST YEAR.

MISSING IN ACTION

We once again, apologize for deserting our family and friends with updates of our lives. So here is POST OVERLOAD! We are very sorry. But I agree with Candace, for the sake of memories we gotta do it.

Here was Easter. Alexis wasn't very happy so we didn't get any pictures of her doing it. Last year we had planned to dye eggs but we somehow just didn't so this dye was from the year before. Is that a good enough excuse for making cheesy designs on the eggs, using year old dye?

Also around Easter, Alexis learned to walk. It is pretty funny. But its a job at the same time, she goes everywhere. Sorry that the video is sideways, didn't realize that when I was recording.

P.S.- I will be posting later about how fast and active she is now. You don't want to miss that one.

10 months and almost walking

I took Alexis to her 9 month appointment a few weeks ago and she now weighs 15 lbs 8 oz. She is growing so fast. She has also been standing up for a while and can take one little step. But if we hold her hand she will just take off. We love this little addition, what joy she is in our lives. I mean look at that face, can you disagree?

Cardboard Creations

One afternoon I was able to take a nap while Alexis and Daddy played. When I woke up this is what I found. I was so amazed that they could create something so cool out of cardboard.

She only really liked it though if we were in the room with her. It was fun while it lasted though.

Fun in the Sun

Arizona is full of Sunshine and Warmth this time of year. We had such a good time with Scott and Candace and their beautiful Family.

She wasn't quite sure what to think.

I'm not sure what happened to her expression but we sure did have fun.

She was waving to all the birds, I think that was her favorite part.

We were also able to stay with Grandma Val. She took such good care of us and we can't wait to come back.(thanks mom for the Savers extravaganza) Also we got to visit a family from Tal's Mish they are so wonderful and we miss them already. We love you Corbitt Family! A BIG thank you to Scott and Candace for showing us some great things about AZ.( Carter's blessing was so wonderful, thank you for letting us be part of such a special day) Sorry it was so short but we love you all and will be back soon.

Note to self: This month was so lovely.

First Play in the Snow

This was Alexis's first Winter and we decided to take her out into the White Wonderland to see how she liked it.

Although the snow is fun, she is just like her Mama and can only handle so much of the cold.

As always Talmadge wanted to build something "FUN" in the snow. This year instead of doing a giant snow man he did a miniature Igloo.(just for his little girl)Unfortunately the second we put her in she was claustrophobic and wanted out.

Mom, It's nice and warm in here. I'll just watch from the window.
